Stamped Concrete Contractors

Decorative concrete done honestly.

Stamped concrete looks great when it's done right and maintained properly. We'll tell you upfront: it costs more than a standard pour, it requires sealing every 2–3 years in NC's climate, and it's more slippery when wet than a broom finish. If that works for you, we do excellent stamp work. If it doesn't, we'll recommend something better.

Popular Stamped Patterns for the Sandhills

Ashlar slate and cobblestone are the most requested patterns in our area — they suit the traditional architecture around Pinehurst and Southern Pines. Random stone is popular for patios and pool decks. For color, earth tones (buff, sandstone, charcoal) age better in NC's sun than dark colors, which fade faster. We bring samples to your estimate.

Sealing Requirements in North Carolina

NC's humidity, UV exposure, and freeze-thaw cycles break down stamped concrete sealer faster than drier climates. Plan on sealing every 2 years. We apply a finish sealer on every stamped job. We also give you a written maintenance schedule so you're not guessing when it's time.

When We'll Steer You Toward Plain Concrete

Steep grade? High-traffic commercial use? Budget is tight? Standard broom or exposed aggregate will serve you better. We'd rather tell you that now than have you call us in 3 years frustrated with the maintenance. Read our full guide on problems with stamped concrete for the complete picture.

FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

How much more does stamped concrete cost vs plain?

Stamped concrete typically runs 50–100% more per square foot than a plain broom finish. The added cost covers the stamping process, color hardener, release agent, and finish sealer.

Is stamped concrete slippery?

It can be, especially when wet. We add anti-slip additive to the sealer on all sloped surfaces and wet-use areas.

Can stamped concrete be repaired if it cracks?

Cracks in stamped concrete are harder to repair invisibly than in plain concrete. The color and pattern rarely match perfectly. Proper jointing at installation is the best prevention — it's something we never skip.
