Monolithic Slab Installation
One pour. The right way.
A monolithic slab is poured as a single unit — slab and footer together — which means fewer seams, faster installation, and a solid foundation for garages, workshops, storage buildings, and ADUs. We've poured hundreds in the Sandhills and Triangle-south area.

What Is a Monolithic Slab?
In a monolithic slab (also called a monopour), the footer and slab are one continuous pour. It's code-approved for most outbuildings and smaller structures, faster, and often more affordable than a traditional stem wall foundation. For buildings over a certain square footage or on expansive soils, a traditional stem wall may be required — we'll tell you which applies at your estimate.
Garage and Workshop Slabs
Standard garage slabs are 4" thick. If you're parking heavy vehicles — diesel pickups, trailers, RVs — we recommend 5–6" with appropriate reinforcement. Workshop slabs often benefit from a thicker edge, especially if you're anchoring heavy equipment. We discuss your specific use case at the estimate and design accordingly.
Site Prep and Grading
A slab is only as good as what's under it. We cut and fill to establish the right grade, compact the sub-base, add aggregate where needed, and install vapor barrier before the pour. We also handle termite pre-treatment coordination if required by your building permit.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What's the difference between a monolithic slab and a regular slab?
A monolithic slab pours the footer and slab together in one operation. A traditional slab pours the footer first, lets it cure, then pours the slab separately. Monolithic is faster and suits most outbuilding applications.
How much does a monolithic slab cost?
A 24×24 garage slab (576 sq ft) typically runs $4,500–$7,500 depending on thickness, reinforcement, and site conditions. We include grading, sub-base prep, and cleanup in the quote.
Do you pull building permits for slabs?
Yes. Most building slabs require a permit. We handle the application, pay the fee as part of your quote, and schedule inspections.
