The most common patio regret we hear from homeowners: 'we should have gone bigger.' Here's how to size your patio correctly before you pour.
The Minimum Functional Size
A 10×12 patio (120 sq ft) can fit a small table for two and not much else. For most families, 16×20 (320 sq ft) is the minimum comfortable outdoor living space — room for a table, 4–6 chairs, and a grill with adequate clearance.
How to Think About Layout
Stand at your back door and think about: where does traffic flow? Where does the sun hit in the afternoon? Is there a view you want to face? Is there a fence, HVAC unit, or tree that creates a natural boundary? We walk through all of this at the estimate.
Shape Options
Rectangular is the most affordable and cleanest-looking option. L-shapes, curves, and steps add cost but allow you to work with existing landscaping, grade changes, or multiple use zones. We pour all shapes.
